The Integration Techs Experience Center in La Quinta

Our Experience Center is inside WDC Kitchen & Bath La Quinta, a 45,000-square-foot flagship showroom and design center on Highway 111 with 30-foot ceilings, 16 luxury kitchen appliance vignettes, 13 plumbing vignettes, and an outdoor kitchen. It received an NKBA/KBIS Innovative Showroom Award in 2024. Integration Techs was the low-voltage contractor, project manager, and systems designer. We designed and specified the lighting and lighting control with the project team and supplied the fixtures, which the general contractor's electricians installed under our coordination. We installed every low-voltage system ourselves, managed the low-voltage infrastructure and cabling, programmed it all, and maintain it today.

The lighting is what makes every cabinet, finish, and appliance in the showroom read the way it should. That is the same job lighting does in a home: it shows the architecture and the materials at their best.

A partnership of more than 20 years

Integration Techs has worked closely with the founders of WDC, and the family that runs WDC today, for more than 20 years. We were instrumental in the design and construction of key elements of the La Quinta showroom and design center: its infrastructure, its controls, and its technology. Today we keep those systems running seven days a week.

That long relationship is what we offer every client: a team that knows the building, knows the systems, and stays involved long after the project is complete.

Large displays and video conferencing

LG 163-inch all-in-one direct-view LED

A seamless dvLED display with no bezels, sized for a great room, media wall, or lobby. See it in person before you decide between direct-view LED, a large flat panel, or a projector. More on large-format displays.

LG 110-inch 4K UHD in the outdoor kitchen

A professional 4K display in the outdoor living kitchen, the kind of installation our clients ask for on patios, loggias, and pool terraces (see outdoor living). Outdoor screens need the right brightness, mounting, power, and cooling. See power and cooling.

Samsung 98-inch 4K UHD conference and training room

The upstairs main meeting room uses a 98-inch Samsung 4K display for video conferencing, presentations, and training. The same approach works for a home office or family office. See Samsung displays.

Two private meeting rooms and 86-inch LG signage

Two private meeting rooms each have a video conference display and AV system. Multiple 86-inch LG 4K professional signage displays show content across the showroom, the same class of display we use for digital art and commercial spaces. See LG.

Audio, paging, and control

Origin Acoustics distributed audio

Origin Acoustics distributed audio with small-aperture architectural speakers, plus a paging and public address system. Music is even across the space and the speakers stay out of sight. See Origin Acoustics.

Marantz and Leon

A Marantz AV receiver and a Leon architectural subwoofer. Leon builds design-led speakers that sit flush or match a display, so sound does not compete with the interior. See Leon.

Crestron lighting control throughout

Crestron commercial lighting control runs the showroom, with Crestron Home control, a Crestron touchscreen, and Crestron handheld remotes. Touch the keypads and remotes that would go in your home.

Sonos, standalone or with Crestron

We are a Sonos dealer and can demonstrate the Sonos app, amplifiers, and electronics, either on their own or integrated with Crestron control. Sonos is a strong choice for secondary rooms, offices, and smaller homes. See Sonos.

One system, simple to use

Lighting, audio, and displays respond from the same keypads, touchscreen, and remotes. That is how we program homes: a few clear choices per room, not a wall of buttons.

Lighting fixtures we provided

Every lighting fixture in the showroom was provided by Integration Techs and our vendor partners, working with the project's designers and electrical engineer on the lighting plan. The general contractor's electricians installed the fixtures and cabling under our coordination:

  • Ascenti: custom track lighting across the vignettes, plus hundreds of feet of Ascenti LED tape under the cabinets
  • Visual Comfort architectural (formerly Tech Lighting): nearly 170 Entra 3-inch square recessed downlights in spot, flood, and wall-wash optics, all 3000K and 90 CRI
  • Maxilume by Elite: dimmable cylinder pendants for the high open ceilings and low-voltage recessed downlights
  • WAC Lighting, Visual Comfort, and DALS: decorative pendants and sconces over the kitchen vignettes and the plumbing gallery

The fixtures are grouped into dozens of lighting control zones on a central control system with automatic time clock scheduling, so each vignette can be lit on its own. It is the same planning we do for a home: the right optic for each surface, one color temperature throughout, and zones that match how each room is used.

We work with architects, interior designers, and lighting designers to select, supply, and control the fixtures on a project, so the fixture schedule and the control system are planned together. See lighting design, fixtures, and control and architectural lighting fixtures.

The infrastructure behind it

  • Middle Atlantic equipment racks, organized and labeled for service
  • Netgear enterprise, business, and Pro AV networking: switches and wireless access points
  • Ubiquiti UniFi network components
  • Power protection and distribution for the displays, audio, and network equipment
  • IC Realtime video security

This is the part most people never see, and it is what keeps a system reliable for years. We build the same foundation into homes: power quality, protection, and cooling, a managed network, and remote support.

How the showroom relates to your project

Design

We planned lighting, control, displays, audio, network, and security around how the space is used. We do the same for each room of your home.

Provide

We specified and supplied the fixtures, displays, and equipment. On your project we coordinate fixture and equipment selections with your designer and architect.

Install and program

Our team installed, terminated, and programmed every low-voltage system and managed the low-voltage cabling. For lighting and electrical, we coordinated the electricians who installed what we designed and specified.

Maintain

We support and update the systems today, with remote service and easy additions as needs change. Your home gets the same care.

When you visit, you are seeing our work, not a manufacturer display. It is the clearest way to judge picture size, sound, light quality, and how simple the controls are.

Who visits
